Warm, gooey Cinnamon Rolls the size of dinner plates. I am not kidding. They have won an award for Tulsa’s best cinnamon roll. I heard about these and was on a mission to experience it for myself.
Tally’s Cafe was right on historic Route 66 in Tulsa. They are a classic old-school diner. Open every day from 6AM to 10:45 at night. They serve breakfast all day, like any good diner should. They seem to be known for their country fried steak and fried chicken dinners, but I think probably best for all sorts of breakfasts and various burger, fries, onion ring combos. This location feels most family-friendly in the earlier daytime hours. That’s not much of a problem because these rolls sell out daily and you will want to get there before they do. We went right as it was just getting dark because we had been out taking photos of old Route 66 signs, and we got the last one! Whew!
The cafe is wheelchair accessible and while we chose a window booth, there were tables if you need one. While it is not spacious inside, I was able to roll to a booth without a problem. I understand they can get crazy busy during breakfast hours, so you may need to wait for a space to open up. Street parking is available with a placard space right around the corner. There were signs directing you to backup parking areas. I loved their retro vibe with that fun feeling, and of course, that massive cinnamon roll.
You can find Tally’s Cafe at 1102 S Yale Ave in Tulsa.
