I’ve always wanted to eat in one of those vinyl igloos that restaurants and bars have. At home, outside of DC, those are always reserved way in advance and usually have a minimum purchase and a minimum number of guests. So imagine our shock when the hostess offered us one for brunch-with no wait! Our jaws dropped and we were speechless for a minute. Turns out that was just the beginning of a great brunch at State of Confusion, on Chattanooga’s Southside.
We really liked our “deviled egg flight” with 4 great tastes to try. How fun is that! Their kids brunch was perfect for me, and everything was cooked perfectly. We also enjoyed their Confusion Benedict and their Low Country Omelette… but their side dishes really won us over. Their Confusion Potatoes are a mix of regular and sweet potato hashbrowns and my mom has suggested going back just to get more of their cheesy grits.
Yes, they are wheelchair accessible. Brunch is served on the weekend when metered street parking is free. I think there might have been a power cord cover to cross over, but I had no trouble with it. Even their restrooms had enough space. Win. Win. Win. I’m not sure if they leave the igloos up year-round, but definitely keep an eye out for them if you’re in Chattanooga during cool weather.
