Santa Fe’s first Native American food truck, Saya’s Frybread and Indian Tacos is a real gem. It’s a family operation with limited hours, but it is worth scrambling to get there between 11 and 3, Tuesdays- Saturdays. Genuinely kind and welcoming, Saya’s is home to the first pre-cut Indian Taco. That is a fabulous concept for those eating in their cars and other situations without table access. They say they are serving indigenous eats and treats from the surrounding tribal lands.
Saya’s food truck is wheelchair accessible. They are parked in a permanent position on a paved parking lot.
I loved the Frito Pie and my family were big fans of that Indian Taco. The servings were hot, fresh, and generous. You can’t leave without one of their large frybreads with honey. It’s large enough to share, but to avoid fights, everyone might want their own! I haven’t tried their Pueblo Pies. The pies are only available on Fridays. Choose from Prune or Cherry. I heard great things about them but we were never in the area on a Friday. Yet—because we will definitely be back!
