I’m sure by now you’ve realized I’m a big history nerd. Something I have loved most about our Live Anywhere with Airbnb adventures so far has been my chance to learn about the local history everywhere we go. In Chattanooga, that means a deep dive into the Civil War battles that took place here. Located on Lookout Mountain at the entrance to historic Point Park, The Battles for Chattanooga was a great place to learn even more about the battles with their impressive digital projection-mapped show. The show lasts about 30 minutes and gives you a large-scale overview of all the battles in the region.
Fun fact: the “battles” of Chattanooga includes 5 separate battles. Lookout Mountain, Wauhatchie, Missionary Ridge, Orchard Knob, and Brown’s Ferry; all of which had an impact on the outcome of the war.
When you enter the fully accessible Battles for Chattanooga, you buy your ticket at the main desk and then wait in the gift shop area for your showing to begin. After you’ve watched the show, you can spend time in a small museum area with some more information and artifacts on display. We all enjoyed the experience because it helped give us a better understanding of the locations of each battle and how they were connected to one another. It really tied it all together.
