An afternoon at the Botanical Gardens in Savannah was the perfect outdoor escape, and it was only a few minutes away from our Airbnb. These free gardens cover 10 acres, and include gardens for each season, rose gardens, a children’s garden, and more. The paths were easily accessible in my chair, and I loved rolling alongside the pond and back to these hidden butterfly chairs. Even in the winter, this place was beautiful.
Wow! These camellias are really the star of the show at the Savannah Botanical Garden! They have so many varieties of these winter-blooming flowers, it was so fun to roll around and check them out. If you don’t want to adventure on your own, they offer volunteer-led tours each Saturday at 10:30 through February.
The trail through the Camellia Garden is on the rougher side, so I had to use my freewheel to navigate over the roots, leaves, and twigs that covered the dirt pathway. There was also a small section of gravel just before the bridge to enter this part of the garden. If you’d rather not go along the path, you can roll along the grassy area around the outside of the garden instead and still get a peek at these beautiful blooms.
