Getting hungry, yet don’t want to stop enjoying the Route 66 vibe? Coney I-Lander is where you want to be! It’s a fun retro building filled with vintage-style art. If you’re too hungry to think, don’t worry! There’s a simple menu, with no complex decisions.
Coney I-Lander serves some “doggone” delicious coneys with grilled hotdogs topped with their unique chili–the same chili recipe they have used since 1926. That’s over 90 years, whoa! Their coneys come served on hot steamed buns, with mustard, onions, and plenty of shredded cheese. Seriously, do you see how much cheese these coneys have? They have now expanded their menu to include frito pies, 3-way chili served over spaghetti, and baked potatoes–all still featuring their original recipe chili.
I visited their 11th Street location, right on historic Route 66. It’s a tiny building, yet has a wheelchair-accessible entrance in the front with nearby parking. While small inside, it was easy to navigate. The food was delicious and just what I needed. Be sure to stop in when you are exploring Tulsa!
Pro-Tip: Don’t forget the napkins!
