Ah ha, ahha!

Ah ha, ahha!

ahha Tulsa describes itself as a connecting place for artists, cultural organizations, and the public. I would describe it as a pretty awesome way to spend an afternoon in the Tulsa Arts District!

The first floor of ahha is a gallery space. When we visited, it highlighted work from local Tulsa area artists. While this part was fun to roll through, I was unprepared for what awaited me just a short elevator ride up!

THE EXPERIENCE: IMAGINE continues ahha’s interactive art tradition. When you visit THE EXPERIENCE: IMAGINE, you will explore zones created by six different Tulsa-based artists. Each has unexpected and crazy interactive elements.

You enter through “The Data Miner”, which is a visual representation of how our data is collected all around us.

“Together” features interactive music, lights, and animation all controlled with a series of buttons on podiums. It was fun to see what we could create ‘together’ when we played around with the different combinations.

“Woo” is a super stylized space that recreates things you are used to seeing every day in bright colors and flat shapes.

“Grow” included a section to paint your own lichen and add it to the collection. Plus, a super cool, but easy to miss, interactive light to hunt the blue lighting bugs dangling overhead. If you shine the flashlight on all of them, the moon begins to glow. This was so cool.

In “The Tempest’s Parallax” science and nature combine, and you get the sense that you’re traveling through space and examining some exciting intergalactic experiments.

“Into The Wormhole” was another part of the exhibit with a space vibe. I loved the interactive musical element, and the fact that the entire spaceship pod had a ramp to make it easy to access.

I highly recommend visiting ahha if you’re in Tulsa. So get your tickets online and head on over! Street parking was easy for us to find. plus there are several large city parking lots. The entire space was easy for me to explore in my chair, restrooms included, so anyone with a mobility concern can plan their visit without worry.
